Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming part of the daily work of civil servants, creating opportunities alongside important questions about its safe, effective and responsible use.
This regional webinar brought together 180 representatives of public administrations to promote the safe and responsible adoption of AI in public administration. It presented the first version of the draft SIGMA AI Guide for civil servants, a practical resource for administrations seeking to introduce or strengthen governance arrangements for AI use in the public sector.
Participants explored relevant international standards and good practices, shared experiences of turning AI guidance into practice, and discussed how administrations can develop or adapt guidance to their own institutional, legal and operational contexts. The webinar also provided an opportunity to exchange lessons, consider planned support for civil servants and discuss potential bilateral co-operation with SIGMA.
