Sigma and Croatia’s Ministry of Finance are organising a regional conference on Public Internal Financial Control (PIFC) for EU candidate and potential candidate countries. The conference will cover the three pillars of PIFC (financial management control, internal audit and central harmonising unit) and will enable these countries to share their experiences in the development of PIFC with their neighbours and some new EU member states (Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovenia). The event will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, on 27-29 October 2010.

EuropeAid and Sigma are organising a Networking Seminar for beneficiaries of Sigma assistance in European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument (ENPI) countries. The event will take place in Paris on 29-30 November 2010 and will bring together representatives of beneficiary administrations and EU Delegations. Sigma has been working with ENPI countries since June 2008.

New SIGMA Paper 45 discusses the regulation in EU member states of national public procurement systems below the EU thresholds and in areas not regulated in detail by the EU Public Procurement Directives. The paper provides beneficiary countries with advice on the design of efficient and sound legal public procurement frameworks outside the scope of the Directives.

Sigma has released the 2010 edition of Public Procurement in the European Union. This free CD-Rom provides comprehensive up-to-date information on legislation and practice of public procurement in the EU and collates all available relevant legislation, official interpretative documents and judgments of the European Court of Justice.

Sigma contributes to the European Commission's annual Progress Reports for EU candidate and potential candidate countries by assessing their progress in public administration reform. Sigma and the EC's 2009 reports were published on the 14 October, along with the EC's annual strategy document for EU enlargement.
