Bioeconomy to 2030: Fourth meeting of the Steering Group

The fourth and final meeting of the Steering Group reviewed a draft of the final report which will be released towards the end of the year. It includes overviews of the work undertaken in the earlier stages of the project along with new research on biofuels and cross-sectoral elements on emerging business models. Expert meeting on biomarkers and targetted therapies

An expert workshop will be held in Cambridge, United Kingdom, to discuss a number of analytical papers that address some key policy issues in the development and uptake of biomarkers. A policy report based on the papers and the workshop discussion is planned for delivery before the end of 2008.

OECD Forum on Medicines for Emerging and Infectious Diseases, Hotels van Oranje, Noordwijk-aan-Zee, the Netherlands, 20-21 June 2007

Infectious tropical diseases exact a heavy toll on families, societies and economies, particularly in developing countries.   The World Health Organisation estimates that one billion people suffer from these dieases, but there are few new  treatments or cures.  The OECD's High Level Forum for Neglected and Emerging Infectious Diseases will look at what can be done to address this gap

Bioeconomy to 2030: Second meeting of the Steering Group

The meeting intended to tackle the forward-looking work for the second part of the project focusing on Health, Industry and Agriculture. The Bioeconomy to 2030: A Policy Agenda - 1st Steering Group Meeting

The Bioeconomy to 2030: Informal Experts' Meeting

The IFP organised a one day meeting on March 6 to bring together decision makers from the public and private sectors to discuss the launch of an innovative OECD Futures Project on the bioeconomy and scope out interest for potential participation in the project.  The meeting allowed to participants to review the scoping documents, discuss the deliverables, examine a provisional timetable, and receive further details for partners wishing to join the project.

The Bioeconomy to 2030: Scoping Meeting

A one-day experts meeting was organised at OECD headquarters on 2nd November 2005 to examine the current state of the bioeconomy and help craft the project documentation. The eighteen-month project will assess emerging developments in biotechnology, how they will impact the economy and society, and what policy agenda will be needed to promote and diffuse the new wave of developments in a way that is consistent with broader socio-economic goals.

OECD Work on G8 Priorities for 2006 Summit
