For a selected country you have direct access to the following documents: - Contextual information, - Inventory: WORD document with the description of all the measures included in the inventory, - Tables: Information on payments and other information linked with the policies included in the inventory. Access to the inventory is also available through a search database (search by country, by type of measure and by environmental objective).

This online database contains information on Policy Measures in OECD countries addressing Environmental Issues in Agriculture. Up to now information on this public website covers only a limited range of OECD countries, and work is under progress to add more countries to this website during. For each country a contextual information document and a table summarising the agri-environmental expenditures is available in the database. Agriculture, as the main user of water in OECD countries, can also help maintain ecosystems. But government policies to support farm production often discourage the efficient use of water and aggravate pollution. The problem is identified in a new OECD publication on Water and Agriculture: Sustainability, Markets and Policies, a collection of expert papers on how to improve water management in the farming sector.

The main objective of the Workshop, held in Washington D.C., 19-21 March 2007, was to get a good idea as to which indicators and elements in the agri-environmental policy inventory are valued and used by policy makers, and to chart out a practical way forward to implement in a concrete way this work area in the OECD so that it is relevant to Member countries.

This meeting was held in Paris on 3-4 November 2003 and was a follow-up to the previous Workshop on Environmentally Harmful Subsidies held on 7-8 November 2002. The meeting gathered experts to address the issues of reforming environmentally harmful subsidies in the agriculture, fisheries, water, transport and energy sectors, particularly the question of obstacles to subsidy reform.
