Seminar on Budget and EU Funds -- Skopje, 14-15 May 2007

The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia has started to prepare for the management of EU pre-accession funds with the setting-up of key institutions. In that context, the Public Internal Financial Control Department requested a first seminar in 2007 specifically tailored to its needs as a potential audit authority for EU funds, in accordance with the expected implementing rules for IPA, which candidate countries had to comply with in 2007. As a complement, the newly established National Fund requested a particular seminar focusing on the budgetary aspects of EU pre-accession funds management (budget classification, multi-year commitment, evaluation of co-funding etc..), incorporating information on the budget system of the European Union. This specific seminar took place in Skopje, 14-15 May 2007.
