Senior Management Appointment: Mr. Sean Moriarty, Head of Tax Administration and Consumption Taxes Division

The OECD’s Centre for Tax Policy and Administration is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Seam Moriarty as Head of its Tax Administration and Consumption Taxes Division. Sean Moariarty brings a wealth of experience to the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration. He has over twenty five years’ experience in the Irish Revenue, ranging from leading the large taxpayer programme, to directing and implementing human resource policy reform, to fundamental restructuring of the Irish Revenue to his current role of heading up the corporate business and international programme.

Sean Moriarty is also very familiar with our work. Over the years he has participated in OECD Outreach/technical assistance programmes as well as IMF, EU and IOTA assistance programmes. More recently he was very involved in the FTA’s intermediaries study and was instrumental in setting up the first Large Business Compliance Management Meeting in Dublin. He has also participated in the work of the focus group on High Net Worth Individuals. In this capacity he attended the first meeting of the group held in London in April 2008 and played a key role in helping us achieve a positive outcome on a challenging project. In January 2008, he became Ireland’s main delegate to the Committee of Fiscal Affairs.
